Research Progress on Composition and Biological Activity of Forsythia suspensa Leaves

  • Forsythia suspensa leaves are rich in phillyrin,forsythiaside A,phillygenin,rutin and other compounds,which has antiviral and antioxidant effects. Forsythiaside and other components have been confirmed the inhibitory effect on novel coronavirus.With the outbreak of COVID-19,the development of Forsythia suspensa leaves have attracted wide attention.In this paper,the pharmacological efficacy and extraction technology of the main chemical components of Forsythia suspensa leaves are summarized,and the future research direction and development prospect of Forsythia suspensa leaves are expounded,which provides reference for the development of Forsythia suspensa leaves in food,functional food and drug fields.
