Simultaneous Determination of 30 Food Additives in Non-protein Beverages by High Performance Liquid Chromatography-tandem Mass Spectrometry

Abstract
A high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS) method for simultaneous determination of 30 food additives in non-protein beverages was developed. 50% methanol liquid was directly added to the weighed sample,which was extracted by ultrasonic for 5 min and then filtered by polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) filter membrane. The filtrate was directly put on the machine for detection. Mass spectral data were acquired under electro spray ion(ESI) mode using multiple reaction monitoring(MRM) scan function. Results showed that,an excellent linear relationship in the range of 20~1000 ng/mL was observed for all the analytes with a correlation coefficient larger than 0.990. The limits of detection were 29~441 μg/kg.The average recoveries from spiked blank samples ranged from 73.50% to 117.60% with relative standard deviation between 0.35% and 15.37%. The method was rapid,sensitive and easy to apply,and suitable for the simultaneous determination and confirmation of various type additives in non-protein beverages.
