Evaluation of SE-μPADs Method for Detection of Salmonella in Animal Foods of Korla City

  • Objective:In order to quickly detect Salmonella contamination in animal foods. Methods:Salmonella was detected and evaluated in 380 samples from markets and slaughterhouses in Korla by using the national standard method and the rapid detection method of SE-μPADs. Results:In the national standard method,the initial screening rate of selective medium was 20.00%(76/380). Six Salmonella strains were isolated and identified from the initial screening strains. The initial screening rate of SE-μPADs rapid detection method was 6.58%(25/380). Ten Salmonella strains were finally isolated and identified. The positive coincidence rate was 100% between the SE-μPADs rapid detection method and the national standard method. A total of ten Salmonella strains were detected in Korla market and slaughterhouse. The total detection rate was 2.63%. The contamination rate of meat samples were the highest in the all samples. The carcass swabs were higher in other sample. The samples pollution rate was 3.66% and 3.31%,respective. Conclusion:the preliminary application effect of the rapid detection method of SE-μPADs is preferably and suitable for the application and promotion. The monitoring of Salmonella contamination in meat prducts of slaughterhouses and market should be strengthened in korla.
