Abstract
Objective: To research the effect of different layer of licorice extracts on α- glycosidase enzymes,Ach E and ACE activities and the influence of the effect of nitrite scavenging activity. Methods: Five kinds of licorice extracts were extracted from Glycyrrhiza uraleusis Fisch.Their ACE inhibitory activity was determined by HPLC.The extracts' nitrite scavenging capability and their α- glucosidase and ACh E inhibitory activity were measured by spectrophotometry, respectively. Results: The evaluation results showed that petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and ethanol fractions of licorice possessed α- glucosidase inhibitory effect and their IC_(50) value was 3.212,0.151,0.891 mg / m L,which were more potent than that of acarbose, ethyl acetate, water fractions of licorice possessed ACh E inhibitory effect and their IC_(50) value was 0.489,0.872 mg / m L,which were more potent than that of rivastigmine.Ethyl acetate fractions of licorice possessed nitrite scavenging activity and their IC_(50) value was 1.068 mg / m L,which was more potent than that of VC.Ethyl acetate fractions of licorice possessed ACE inhibitory effect and their IC_(50) value was 0.815 mg / m L,which was more potent than that of captopril,so ethyl acetate fractions of licorice was the most potent inhibitory in five kinds of licorice extracts. Conclusion: Ethyl acetate fractions of Glycyrrhiza uraleusis Fisch have shown high ACE,ACh E and α- glycosidase inhibitory capacity and nitrite scavenging activity so they will be further guided isolation and purified to obtain active compounds.
