Analysis and evaluation of nutritive composition of four species of Paulownia flowers

  • Nutrient components of four kinds of Paulownia flowers were analyzed used national standard method, and compared with other commonly used plant feed protein source. The results showed that:the Paulownia flowers water, protein, fiber, fat, ash respectively 8.69%~9.26%, 10.8%~14.8%, 3.5%~6.4%, 11.3%~13.6%, 5.4%~6.1% of the total dry weight. Calcium, Phosphorus contents of mineral element in 0.55% ~0.72% and 21% ~0.42%, the ratio of Calcium to Phosphorus was 1.37%~2.35%. The Paulownia flowers contain 18 kinds of amino acids, total 8.98%~10.36%, essential amino acids content of which was 4.22%~4.81% and the essential amino acid index (EAAI) average value was 1.11. Paulownia flowers could be a kind of protein feed.
