Analysis and evaluation of nutritive composition of four species of Paulownia flowers

Nutrient components of four kinds of Paulownia flowers were analyzed used national standard method, and compared with other commonly used plant feed protein source. The results showed that:the Paulownia flowers water, protein, fiber, fat, ash respectively 8.69%~9.26%, 10.8%~14.8%, 3.5%~6.4%, 11.3%~13.6%, 5.4%~6.1% of the total dry weight. Calcium, Phosphorus contents of mineral element in 0.55% ~0.72% and 21% ~0.42%, the ratio of Calcium to Phosphorus was 1.37%~2.35%. The Paulownia flowers contain 18 kinds of amino acids, total 8.98%~10.36%, essential amino acids content of which was 4.22%~4.81% and the essential amino acid index (EAAI) average value was 1.11. Paulownia flowers could be a kind of protein feed.
