Abstract
The antioxidant activities in vitro of the water extract (WE) from fruiting bodies of Albatrellus caeruleoporus and Albatrellus ovinus were investigated by total reducing power, free radical scavenging activity and chelating ability assay. The results indicated that extracts from the fruiting bodies of two species had in vitro strong antioxidant activities. Its capacities of scavenging DPPH radical, superoxide anion, hydroxyl radical, sodium nitrite and chelating ability were 94.92% and 89.73%, 76.72% and 75.92%, 81.64% and 72.51%, 92.06% and80.82%, 78.28% and 73.09% at the concentration of 2.5mg/m L. As for the total capacity of antioxidant activities of the extracts, Albatrellus caeruleoporus had stronger than Albatrellus ovinus. The antioxidant activities of WEs displayed a dose-response relationship with its concentrations.
