Abstract
As 1-Methylcyclopene (1-MCP) , a new inhibitor of ethylene action, gets more and more applications in agricultural practices, its application on postharvest storage of fruits and vegetables has been developed to combine with other preservative methods for obtaining better storage quality and better senescence control of stored produces. Combination of 1-MCP with other preservative methods exerts synergy functions to maintain postharvest quality of fruits and vegetables in a better state. Effect of 1-MCP combined with other treatments such as preservative treatment, low temperature storage, controlled atmosphere storage, heat treatment and others on postharvest biochemical and physiological indices of fruits and vegetables were reviewed in this paper, its application problems were analyzed, and the solution to resolve the problems were proposed, with the purpose to provide references for further development of storage and preservation practices of fruits and vegetables.
