Research progress in peptide-mineral ion complexes

Peptide-mineral ion complex, which is a kind of cyclic compounds obtained from the chelating reaction between peptide and mineral ion, has some special biologic activities. The present paper gave a review about the preparation procedure of the compound and the related reaction mechanism of chelation which had been studied by researchers all over the world. Besides, some other crucial properties and biologic activities of peptide-mineral ion complex were also covered in this paper. In addition, structure-activity relationship and the prospect of application of peptide-mineral ion complex were reviewed, too.
