Abstract
Mycotoxin immunoassays depend on interactions between antibodies and mycotoxins. Although intact antibodies with high affinity and specificity were well developed, novel materials instead of conventional antibodies or mycotoxins for immunoassays attracted more and more attention. The alternatives can be classified into those that are represented by recombinant antibodies and their fragments such as single chain variable fragments, and those that are obtained by chemical synthesis such as molecularly imprinted polymers, and those that are used to replace mycotoxin standards such as anti- idiotypic antibodies.Recent developments of novel materials and their potential for application in mycotoxin immunoassays were reviewed.
