Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect of gynura divaricata on the function of gastrointestinal motility in mice. Methods:Effect of gynura divaricata on the rate of gastric emptying and small intestine facilitation in normal mice and constipation mice induced by atropine in vivo were observed, and contraction frequency and contraction tension in normal small intestine and inhibition small intestine by atropine in vitro were also observed.Result:Gynura divaricata could elevate the rate of gastric emptying and small intestine facilitation in normal mice comparing with normal mice ( p < 0.01 or p < 0.05) , gynura divaricata could also elevate the rate of gastric emptying and small intestine facilitation in constipation mice induced by atropine comparing with model mice ( p < 0.01 or p < 0.05) . Gynura divaricata could increase contraction frequency and contraction tension in normal small intestine in vitro comparing with normal small intestine ( p < 0.01 or p < 0.05) , gynura divaricata could also increase contraction frequency and contraction tension in inhibition small intestine by atropine in vitro comparing with inhibition small intestine by atropine ( p < 0.01 or p < 0.05 ) .Conclusion:Gynura divaricata could improve the function of gastrointestinal motility in mice.
