Abstract:
In this experiment, enzymolysis method was employed to extract collagen peptide from the skin of tilapia. Meanwhile, its fundamental components, molecular weight distribution,anti-oxidation activity, moisture retention and UV absorption properties were also investigated and analyzed. And then the tilapia peptide and carboxymethyl chitosan, which were matched according to different proportions, were applied to prepare moisturizing cream, the properties of which were then evaluated. The result indicated that the content of tilapia skin peptide protein was 94.75%,and the molecular weight of tilapia skin peptide was less than 1000 Da(82.27%)as well as the average molecular weight was 614 Da. The IC
50 values of this peptide on ·OH
-,DPPH· and O
-2·radical scavenging activities were 5.34,5.03 and 7.63 mg/mL,respectively. Moreover, the peptide possessed favourable moisturizing efficacy,as well as UVC and UVB absorbing performance to some extent. The results also revealed that the prepared skin care cream, mainly including the above-mentioned peptide and carboxymethyl chitosan, had good moisturizing and anti-aging efficacy,as well as sun-block effect. Besides, the sensory and physicochemical property of this cream conformed to the regulation of national moisturizing cream product quality standards. Furthermore, skin irritation and skin anti-photoaging tests were carried out using the nude mice, and the results suggested that this homemade moisturizer was safe and nonirritating, and had prevented skin photoaging efficacy on the basis of comparison between different groups. This study provided a scientific theoretical basis for the development and utilization of tilapia skin peptides in anti-aging products.
