Abstract:
In order to improve the stability of lavender essential oil and enable the controlled release of essential oils. In this experiment, the effects of different concentrations of Span 85 on the quality of the emulsion were investigated. The effects of destabilizer, sodium alginate concentration,CaCl
2 concentration and curing time on the preparation of lavender essential oil microcapsules were investigated. The preparation conditions of the suitable lavender essential oil microcapsules were obtained and their properties were measured. The release of lavender essential oil under different film thickness and pH conditions was also studied. The results showed that the membrane thickness of the microcapsules increased from 20 μm to 56 μm after adding ethanol,Tween 20,ethanol with Tween 20 respectively. The release results showed that the release of the blank group reached 92% within 10 h,the ethanol group was 80%,and the Tween 20 group was 82%,but the ethanol plus Tween 20 group released only 70%. In addition, the drug loading, encapsulation efficiency, particle size and morphology of the microcapsules were investigated. The results showed that the drug loading of the microcapsules was between 38.2% and 57.2%,and the encapsulation efficiency was between 76.4% and 92.8%. The particle size was between 45 and 84 μm. In summary, the prepared microcapsule film has a controlled thickness and a uniform shape, and the release time of the lavender essential oil can be achieved by adjusting the thickness of the film and the pH of the release medium.
