Abstract:
Polyphenols, which are widely distributed in plants and possess many biological activities, are a class of secondary metabolites with multiple phenolic hydroxyl groups. Polyphenols extracted from plants have aroused great attention because of its various bioactivies, such as antioxidant activity, anti-hypertension and anti-tumor. Therefore, in this paper, the classification, extraction methods and advantages and disadvantages of plant polyphenols were summarized for further research and utilization.
