Abstract:
In this paper, the main volatile components, the content of polyphenols and flavonoids in the essential oil of
Dalbergia pinnata (Lour.) prain. was determined, and the antioxidant, antibacterial and inhibit tyrosinase activities of essential oils were studied. The antioxidant activities of esential oil from
Dalbergia pinnata (Lour.) Prain was evaluated by the free radical scavenging of DPPH and ABTS, total reducing power and total antioxidant capacity.
Staphyloccocus aureus Rosenbach ATCC 25923,
Streptococcus pyogenes ATCC 19615,
Escherichia coli CMCC (B) 44103,
Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853,
Salmonella Typhimurium ATCC 14028,
Candida albicans ATCC 10231 were used as tested bacteria to evaluate the antibacterial effect of essential oil. The inhibitory effect of essential oil on the formation of melanin was evaluated by the inhibits of tyrosinase activity. The results showed that the DPPH and ABTS free radical scavenging capacity reached about 70% at the concentration of 0.18 mg/mL, at the concentrations of 0.18 mg/mL and 1 mg/mL, the absorbance values of total reducing power and total antioxidant capacity reached 0.4 or more. The inhibition zone diameters of
Staphyloccocus aureus Rosenbach,
Streptococcus pyogenes and
Candida albicans were:12.83, 11.50, and 10.25 mm, respectively, exhibiting moderate-inhibitory degrees, but there was no obvious inhibitory effect on the three Gram-negative bacteria. Even the inhibitory activity against tyrosinase was stronger than that of the positive control arbutin, and the inhibition rate was nearly 90% at a concentration of 0.1 mg/mL. This article concluded that
Dalbergia pinnata (Lour.) prain. essential oil have good antioxidant activity, inhibits Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, and inhibit tyrosinase activity, described the complete functional activities of essential oil from
Dalbergia pinnata (Lour.) Prain.
