Abstract:
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is one of the major foodborne pathogens and lead great economic losses to the aquaculture. Antimicrobial agents used in vast quantities in clinical and agriculture for the treatment of infection caused by
V. parahaemolyticus. However, for the reasons of abuse of antibiotics, multidrug-resistant
V. parahaemolyticus is increasing. The spreading of
V. parahaemolyticus from food chain to human brings a serious threat to food safety and health of public. At present, the report about multidrug-resistance of
V. parahaemolyticus mainly focus on the analysis of drug-resistance profiles, and less on the resistance genes, mobile elements and mechanism. In this article, we summarized the antibiotic resistance and its mechanism of
V. parahaemolyticus in various countries, and made an analysis of its prospect.
