Abstract:
To investigate the hepatoprotective effects of the different polarity fractions of extracts from the
Fructus Akebiae on liver injury of CCl
4- treated mice. Different polarities crude extracts of
Fructus Akebiae were obtained by using petroleum ether, ethyl acetate,butanol,and water.The liver injury models of mice were prepared with the intragastric administration of 0.3% CCl
4. The effects of different polarity fractions of
Fructus Akebiae extracts on serum ALT and AST levels,SOD activities and MDA level in liver homogenate,and a pathological examination for the mice liver tissues were performed. The results indicated that the butanol extract and water extract of
fructus akebiae could obviously reduce the activities of ALT and AST in CCl
4- treated
m ice,and increase the activities of SOD in hepatic tissue,and lower the content of MDA.The pathological section showed the butanol extract and water extract could improve the pathological changes of liver tissue. The results showed that butanol extract and water extract of
Fructus Akebiae had noticeable protective effect against liver injury.
