Abstract:
Perilla seed oil was microencapsulated by spray drying with five different wall materials, including Soybean polysaccharide,Gum Arabic,Capsule,Purity Gum 2000 and HI-CAP 100. The effects of the type and concentration of wall materials on the properties of microcapsules were investigated, and then the potential wall material for preparing high-loaded(50%) microcapsules was screened out. Results indicated that with the wall material concentration of 20%,microcapsules prepared with Purity Gum 2000 and HI-CAP 100 showed lower surface oil content(3.05% and 3.31%,respectively) and higher encapsulation efficiency(93.86% and 93.33%,respectively). It could be concluded that Purity gum 2000 and HI-CAP 100 were the potential wall materials for the preparation of high-loaded microcapsules.
