Abstract:
Resveratrol is a naturally occurring phytoalexin and widely exists in a variety of plants in natural active ingredients.Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound.Through intervening MAPK, JAK/STAT, PKA, PKC and apoptosis-related signal transduction pathways, resveratrol is involved in the anti-cancer, anti-cardiovascular diseases and the role of immune regulation.Recent studies showed that resveratrol also regulated gene expression through epigenetic manner. In this paper, the progress of resveratrol in gene methylation, histone acetylation, microRNA aberrant expressions and so on were summarized. From the perspective of epigenetic regulation, it provided the new molecular mechanism of resveratrol to prevent and control diseases.
