Abstract:
Objective: Study the anti-fatigue function and hypoxia function of asparagus extracts. Methods: asparagus scrap was ultrasonic extracted with 75% ethanol. The contents of total saponin, polysaccharide and amino acids in the extract were determined. The effect of the ethanol extract from stem bottom of Asparagus on Anti-fatigue function and Hypoxia function of normal mice were studied by oral administration at three dose levels (25, 100, 400mg/kg mb) .Results: After 14d of taking drugs, weight loading swimming time of mice significantly extend (low, high dose group p <0.01, the middle dosage group p <0.05) .After swimming 30min without weight loading in taken drugs for 30d, the accumulation of blood lactic acid in mice significantly decreased ( low, middle dosage group p < 0.01, high dose group p < 0.05) , while the blood urea nitrogen (BUN) content showed no significant change (p > 0.05 ) , Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) content significantly increased (low, middle dose group p < 0.05, high dosage group p < 0.01) , Superoxide dismutase (SOD) content significantly increased (low, dose group p < 0.01, middle, high dosage group p < 0.05) , the Malondialdehyde (MDA) content of high dose group significantly decreased (p < 0.05) . After taking the medicine for 30d continuously, the hypoxia-resistance time of high doses of mice significantly extended (p < 0.05) , after injection hydrochloric acid isoproterenol, each dose group of mice oxygen consumption and survival time had no significant change. Conclusion: the ethanol extract from stem bottom of asparagus had obviously anti-fatigue function and certain hypoxia function.
